Plopp stool is an icon and a bestseller of Zieta Prozessdesign. It is made of thin polished steel sheet in silver color, has a round seat with a hole in the middle and three legs. It is a universal stool designed for an adult. The stool is perfectly smooth to the touch, with clearly marked edges. Plopp resembles a shiny, inflated balloon that has been formed into a stool shape. This is the right combination, because it was created from thin and precisely cut, laser welded on the edges of the sheets, inflated with pressurized air that deforms the form from the inside. Thanks to this it is lightweight, it weighs only three kilos. At the same time it is very solid and strong - it will withstand a load of over 2 tons. It is a universal stool designed for an average-grown adult.
The unique, toy-looking and playful shape of Plopp is an effect of an innovative forming method – FIDU. FIDU technology means that two ultra-thin steel sheets are welded together around their edges and inflated under high pressure to give a 3d object. FIDU enables mass production of individualized shapes. Forms made in FIDU are very light but also very durable.
Since its market release, Plopp stool has been shown on many exhibitions around the world and has won many prestigious awards.
